The end of summer is approaching quickly and I thought it would be fun to do some last minute “mom reminders” for a mindful summer.
Our fuses can be short and our schedules can be all over the place, but we only get our kiddos home for summers about 18 times give or take. And in the end, we know we will look back and cherish these memories we made with our family.
Complete those last items on your bucket list…or hey, create a bucket list of 5 things you want to do before summer ends! Go to the zoo, do art in the backyard, take a family walk… there are so many simple but meaningful things you can do to cultivate summer memories!
While you are making those memories, remember to take pictures WITH your kiddos.
Print your favorite summer pictures and put them in frames that you can hang on your wall. It adds a personal touch to your home decor and it's also a nice way to frequently be reminded of your best summer moments.
Get in the pool with your kids and try all the rides with them. Jump in, let loose and don’t mind what others think! Those are the kind of memories children will never forget.
Don’t sweat the small stuff. We are all already sweating enough from this heat, so don’t sweat the fact that your kiddo isn’t potty trained, or is still taking a pacifier…they won’t go to college that way right?! Don't worry too much about smaller issues and details, nobody is perfect and you will get there in your own time.
So these are my five simple tips to remember as summer comes to a close. To put it in a nutshell, just make those memories, live in the moment and be free.
Experiencing summer as a kid are some of the best memories of my life and I try to remember to give those same memories to my kids!
Enjoy summer and then enjoy school starting soon… I know I am ready for it!
