“Endorphins make you happy!”
The key to my sanity postpartum has been daily walks. It's a chance for me to get out of the house, take a break from cleaning and social media. I either walk with my son and dog or we all meet up with a neighbor. I encourage you to reach out to your momma friends to go on walks. While self-reflection time is nice, it is also incredibly healthy to vent to a friend. I am so thankful to have multiple mommas in the neighborhood that are always willing to listen and give advice.
Another reason I love walking is the endorphins it gives me. Elle Woods couldn't have said it better, "Exercise gives you endorphins. endorphins make you happy!"
As far as other postpartum workouts go, I am taking it super easy!
Unfortunately, I have been diagnosed with diastasis recti. This is caused from pregnancy. In diastasis recti the large abdominal muscles separate. Crazy what pregnancy does to our bodies! When others ask how my pregnancy was, I usually leave out the part where my abdominal muscles tore apart. I wouldn't want to discourage them! I found out the hard way that I had it and started doing abdominal exercises that made it worse. If you seem to have a gap in between your abdominal muscles, I would recommend consulting your physician. Mine is super noticeable, but definitely worth it!
Mommas that experienced diastasis recti, what would you recommend? Any other crazy things that happened during your pregnancy?

Hey y'all! My name is Haley, and I am the momma behind The Unfiltered Momma Blog. I created my blog in efforts to battle postpartum anxiety. To avoid the excessive worry that accompanies my son's nap times, I utilize this time to express myself through writing. In addition, I use my blog and other social platforms to share all of our gnarly adventures, provide parenting suggestions, and bring joy to other fellow mommas with the use of photos. Follow along to see where our next adventure takes us!
