The year is 2019 we are raising babies without a village, while juggling careers, working from home, or staying home. We ourselves have estranged relationships with our mothers, mothers who have passed away, mothers who are still working hard through the retirement age, or are states away from us as we bring our own children into the world. If we have sisters they may follow a similar description or are hard at work trying to balance motherhood just like we are.
We are blending parenting techniques, boldly shunning the "It worked for them, I turned out fine," mentality. Turning to science based research to develop the tiny humans we have brought into this world. Accepting "fed is best," and taking a stance for the motherhood rights of those around us. From mental health to nursing our babies, taking leave, and defining who we are as mothers and women within our families. We are trusting in the community of like minded, bold, brave mothers and women the internet and our busy lives have brought together. Choosing to remain open minded as we share in a collective data base of women along the same journey, fighting to do what is right and works best for their babies, children, and loved ones. This has become our village.
The words, the thoughts, the trials and tribulations other women are vulnerably willing to share. The advice, love, and encouragement across miles. We are learning the power of community, our eyes are being opened to a new way of thinking, connecting, and supporting. There is no more blind eye to issues we may have once been un-aware of. There is no longer room for bitterness and judgement, we know far beyond better at this point.
This collective consciousness of "We Can DO HARD Things!" We must cherish it, and respect it. Use it to better each and every single one of us as we we learn the gravity of our impact on one another, and our children. There has never been another time where it has mattered most to the women of this world, within our homes, and withing our very own thoughts. Together our visions will help create the well rounded children we have dreamed of. So please next time you are feeling alone and unsure don't ever underestimate the power of vulnerability and reaching out. Allow your fears to make you fearless, guiding you to a confident place within the women and mothers around you. This community is a beautiful place, with an importance so significant to each and every single one of us. Lets vow to keep it that way. Always giving back to it, uplifting each other, pushing through our comfort zones together. Tucking our own insecurities and pre-conceived notions behind us. Giving the true support we all desire. Our Village, Our community, Our new found source of growth and enlightenment.
"There is nothing in this world as personal, as nurturing, or as life changing as the influence of righteous women." - Russell Ballard
We will all get through this together Mommas.
